About Kirsten E. Miller

Kirsten E. Miller is a partner at Miller | Williams LLP in Los Angeles, California.  Ms. Miller spent the early years of her law career as an associate in the Labor and Employment Departments of regional and national law firms in Los Angeles, California.  There, Ms. Miller represented Fortune 500 companies, privately held companies, and individual defendants against a wide variety of employment-related claims brought before administrative agencies and in state and federal court.

In her role as partner at Miller | Williams LLP, Ms. Miller continues to focus on defending employers against class action and individual lawsuits alleging violations of wage and hour laws, as well as defending against discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract and other related claims.  Ms. Miller also defends and prosecutes employment-related trade secrets claims.

Additionally, Ms. Miller counsels employers and Human Resources professionals on a wide range of personnel matters, prepares and revises employee handbooks, and conducts sexual harassment prevention and other training sessions.  Because Ms. Miller managed hundreds of employees over several years as a business owner in California’s High Desert before entering law school, she understands firsthand the challenges employers face in managing their relationships with their employees while navigating the intricacies of federal and California law.  Ms. Miller draws on this experience, combined with her experience litigating employment disputes, to offer employers practical advice with a personal approach.

Ms. Miller’s skill as an employment lawyer has been recognized in the legal and business community.  She was named as a Rising Star in Employment and Labor Law by Super Lawyers in 2009 and 2010.  She has also lectured and published on various employment law topics for organizations such as the California Employer Advisory Council, the California EDD, the Victorville Chamber of Commerce, and the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review

When she is not practicing law, Ms. Miller enjoys competing in local triathlons, skiing, and raising money for her favorite charities.
